Dental implants have been used for a long time and are a long-lasting solution that serves as a replacement for missing teeth. It is an artificial tooth root, usually made of titanium, that is placed in the jawbone. A crown, bridge or denture can then be attached to this, resulting in a natural-looking and functioning tooth.

An implant is placed like a screw in the jawbone where your tooth used to be. It grows firmly into the jawbone over a period of time. A crown, bridge or dentures are then placed on the implant.

The implantologist assesses the indication for placing implants. This also applies to whether a correction is needed to the amount of jawbone around the teeth.
